Sour Face

Don't you just love the look you get when you give your child a lime. The funny thing is, is that he kept eating them.

Wicked Witch of the.....

I left Dave alone with the girls to say goodnight to them and he didn't come back for the longest time. I decided to go and check things out and this is what I found. Sammie wanted to sleep under the bed, yes under, and she wanted Dave to cuddle with her. What a good Dad. (Don't look at how messy their room is).

Happy Birthday Sammie

Sammie had a fun birthday this year. She wanted a "Princess Birthday" so we had all the girls wear their princess dresses. We had blow up swords for the boys to "protect" the princesses. Sammie really enjoyed opening her presents
She loved the sparkly shoes that Kolby and Eliza gave her. I am sure they will never come off.
Look at that big hug to say "thank you" to Eliza.
All of the girls waiting for the presentation of the birthday cake.
Don't worry, this was last years attempt to make a barbie cake for Lindsay's birthday, but as you can tell I failed miserably.
This years cake turned out so much better. .....the difference.....I had professional help. Thank you Jen for helping me out. It was a big hit.

Sammie has been such a blessing in our lives. She is a constant show and always makes us laugh. Here are some of the things that I love about Sammie:
1. Her contagious laugh
2. Her talent to make up songs about anything
3. Her love for dancing
4. Her love for her brother and sister
5. The ability to sleep anywhere (i.e. under the bed, under the desk, half off the bed etc.)
6. Her strong determination
7. The way she says "because I want to"
8. When she says "I love you"
9. Her love for life
10. She is so squishy
11. Her rarely given hugs
She thoroughly enjoys life and is such an example to me and she is only 3. It is true that we should be like little children.

4th of July Weekend

We made our annual 4th of July trip to Seattle and had a blast. The weekend was packed with fun events and great food. This year we were able to fly instead of drive which gave us more time with the family. We forgot our stroller and Davis insisted on walking through the airport pulling our carry-on. Each time we barely made it in time to board. Flying with 3 kids isn't exactly fun, but it beats the drive. Somehow, on the way out, I ended up with all 3 kids while Dave just kicked back and enjoyed the flight. It is nice that my kids like their mom, but not at times like these.

On the 4th, the kids were able to be in a parade. My mother-in-law is a State Senator and my brother-in-law is a State Representative, so they rode with them. Also, my sister-in-law (she is married to the state representative) is going to the 2008 Olympics and so she was in it as well. We are so excited for her and wish her the best of luck. Check out her website here and read more about how amazing she is. Back to the parade, the girls were in heaven. As for me, I really don't like to be in the spotlight, so I was out of my comfort zone. We lit fireworks that night and sat around the campfire. It was great.

I went golfing for the first time and I actually enjoyed it. All of the adults broke free from the kids and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the golf course. The kids played at Aunt Melanie's Gymnastic Gym and they also had a ball.

To celebrate Melanie going to the Olympics, on Sunday we had Chinese food and Olympic games that Jim and Pam put together. It was a lot of fun. I took the gold in the BB gun. Who knew I had that good of an aim. Dave took the gold in the "trampoline routine" and the "biathlon". It was good times.

Lindsay and Sammie loved being around their cousins. Lindsay cried when we had to say goodbye to her cousin Emily. Being there made me realize how much I miss being by family. Hopefully one day we will be able to be by my family or Dave's. We really enjoyed our time there and look forward to going back again. I especially liked the weather. It was 75-80 degrees and we flew into 110 degree weather and smoggy air. YUCK!!!

Pre-school

I know that this is kind of late to be blogging about, but Lindsay finished up her first year of Pre-school in May. She absolutely loved it. This is a picture of her and her teacher, Mrs. Sigmund. Lindsay adored her. When I would drop her off at school I would sometimes watch her through the window (such a nosy mom) and she would follow Mrs. Sigmund around like a little duckling and her mom. I was worried that she wasn't playing with the other kids but Mrs. Sigmund assured me that she did. Lindsay just likes to be a big helper. Lindsay is going into the Pre-K class next year and won't have her as a teacher anymore. She will be missed by Lindsay, but Samantha will probably have her next year as a teacher. Yeah for Mrs. Sigmund! She will be seeing a lot more of the Roaches. I hope she likes us.

"Ballerina" or "Rocker"

I think Lindsay and Sammie are having a hard time deciding what they want to be when they grow up. The girls love to put skirts on and do a little ballet (or what they think is ballet), and they also like to play Rock Band. Has anyone ever seen a "Ballerina Rocker"? Keep your eyes out for my girls.
